Job Description:
The Audio/Video Design Engineer should have conceptual and practical experience in A/V production and system design to include presentation technology, A/V distribution methodology; VTC integration; conference room and auditorium control systems, lighting, acoustics, and power requirements. Additional knowledge in high definition video and advanced video distribution technology (e.g. MPEG, MXF, video over IP) is a requirement.
Some of the responsibilities of this position include:
- Produce complete system design packages to include signal flow drawings, rack elevations, cable run lists, labels, equipment lists, pin-outs, indicate all sub-system dependencies and interconnectivity.
- Adhere to PPI engineering standards and best practices.
- Collaborate and work with a team of Design Engineers, Applications Engineers, Project Management, Project Supervisors, Systems Integrators, Account Managers and clients.
- Perform system testing, commissioning and training.
- Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate should have the following professional experience and personal attributes:
- Must have an understanding of A/V signal flow diagrams and nomenclature.
- Minimum of three years experience in the design and implementation of audio/video systems.
- Experience with digital video and audio, system timing, video servers, signal distribution methodology, and infrastructure requirements.
- Capabilities with AutoCAD 2000 at a minimum; experience with WireCAD and VidCAD a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot and configure complex audio, video, switching and control systems.
- Familiarity with MS Project.
- Must be able to collaborate and work in a team environment.
- Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Contribute to the innovation and technical advancement of the Professional Products system design team.
