The Commission Chambers of the Washington, DC National Capital Planning Commission are used for hearings and presentation to the Commission on land use issues concerning land use in the Capital Area. The Chambers are equipped with a system designed and integrated by Professional Products that includes projection, sound support, and teleconferencing to enhance the presentations and simplify their distribution.
The room features a large rear screen projection system. The presenter, via a touch screen panel mounted in the podium, can select the sources to be sent to the projector. The system can display signals from a computer, a VCR, or a DVD player.
While the presenter has control over some components of the system, the Master Control Desk has full system control of every device and signal routing. The Master Control desk has a 25" monitor capable of previewing 4 video sources and the computer simultaneously. From the Master Control Desk the operator can send signals to the Chambers projector, and to plasma screens in the Overflow Room and the Antechamber. The operator also has control over room functions, such as lighting and audio levels.
In the Chambers, there are discreet speakers mounted in the ceiling, as well on the walls to provide speech reinforcement and surround sound. Each podium has a gooseneck microphone and each seat at the Commissioners Table also has a gooseneck microphone with a mute switch and an LED indicator. Besides being distributed throughout the Chambers and the three other rooms, audio is also sent to two mult-boxes for distribution in the Press Area. There is also an assisted listening system.
Three remote control cameras in the Commission Chambers provide audio and video feeds to the overflow room, and the antechamber. These rooms are equipped with a mounted plasma screen and touch-screen controls for the room's speakers. These rooms are also utilized as breakout meeting rooms. |
