Office of Cable Television and Telecommunications National Capital Planning Commission	Portfolio > U.S. Customs & Border Protection U.S. Customs & Border Protection Advanced Training Center When the U.S. Customs and Border Protection needed a company that could design and build a highly technical infrastructure for its Advanced Training Center that involved managing, distributing, displaying, and archiving the facility’s daily routine, the expertise of Professional Products, Inc. (PPI) was enlisted. The goal of the 104-acre facility, located in Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia:  to successfully equip our nation’s customs and border patrol agents and other law enforcement officers for terrorist situations by creating a single location at which they could receive training.  For this project, PPI supplied and integrated AV equipment for various buildings throughout the campus.  The equipment contained in these areas includes: - Cameras - Microphones - A content management system - A MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 encoding server - LCD monitors and touch screen displays - A campus intercom - A networked digital signage system In a matter of months, PPI was able to complete the assignment and incorporate advanced audio, video, and encoding technology in the facility, thereby helping to advance the U.S. Customs & Border Protection’s mission.  An estimated 12,000 customs and border patrol agents and other law enforcement officers receive training each year through the facility.
